The ICONNECT 7 software developed in-house by Micro-Epsilon provides a comfortable development environment for the rapid visual programming of industrial applications. ICONNECT 7 is used in different areas such as, for example
- Measured value acquisition, control and regulation
- Automation
- Quality assurance
- Image processing
- Research and development and (university) teaching
Visual programming
ICONNECT 7 has already proven itself as an application generator for many years in measuring, control and regulation technology. The powerful and easy to use software enables the development of Windows programs visually using a “block diagram”. The graphical display is converted immediately at the press of a button according to a patented method into an executable, dynamic process which can, for example, control a machine. Many display and operation options can be combined with powerful data acquisition and analysis functions. No programming knowledge is required for this.
Comfortable development
The application creation is performed as a 32-bit application in an integrated programming environment. The design process is made easier by comprehensive data type checking and integrated help. In the test phase, a graphical debugger supports the search for logical errors in the application. Due to the open programming interface of ICONNECT 7, the user also has the opportunity to quickly implement his own ideas in executable results.
Maximum flexibility
The retrofitting of hardware components or changes to a user interface is limited to the replacement of a few program blocks and connections. The encapsulated, modular design from proven components enables flexible solutions without time-consuming tests after each change.
Industrial suitability
ICONNECT 7 is designed for the challenging conditions in the industrial environment. This suitability is illustrated by the following features:
- Password-protected user interface
- Freezing of all window positions
- Automatic start of signal graphs
- Monitoring of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS)
- User-defined dialogues with freely selectable dialogue elements
- Range monitoring of user inputs
- Password protection for process-critical input elements
- Free design of the user interface with own menus and hot keys, operation without mouse
- User-defined HTML help system can be integrated
- Multithreading of several signal graphs running in parallel with selectable thread priorities (idle, ..., time-critical), prioritisation of individual modules between each other, stable reaction times of time-critical threads
